The takeaway shop provides wholesome and delicious all time favourites such as Ayam Sioh, Chicken-Pork Pongteh, Chicken Rendang, Devil’s Curry, Gerang Assam Fish, Chilli Garam Fish and Nyonya Chap Chye.

The Peranakan Food Story

The Peranakans are descendants of Chinese and Malay heritage. The fusion of both these cultures created the unique Peranakan or Nyonya cuisine.

 

Key Ingredients

To augment the fragrance and flavouring of the food, various essential ingredients such as galangal, turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, chillies, shallots, candlenuts, belachan, tamarind and coconut milk are used in the
Peranakan dishes.

 

Food Preparation

Advance preparation and great patience is an integral part of Peranakan cooking. Adequate time is required in mixing the fresh spices into a paste (rempah). The marinated food is then given sufficient time to absorb the delightful spices before they are cooked.
